MAHABALLIPURAM ( also called MAMALLAPURAM ) is the former capital of the Pallava kings and located 64 kilometers from Chennai.

TIRUVANNAMALAI - a temple Town with over 100 temples, which includes the largest Siva Parvati temple - 13 stories high, with a 1000 pillared hall.

PONDICHERRY - known for the Mother, the Aurobindo Ashram & Auroville

CHIDAMBARAM / THANJAVOOR famed for its temple complex of Nataraja, the dancing Shiva - . Tanjore is also famed for its silk and sarees. Places of interest include the Brihadeshwara Temple, guarded by the biggest Nandi Bull in India AND the Palace with its Art Gallery .

TRICHY known for the spectacular Rock Fort Temple and it is also the site for the largest and very interesting temple complex of Sri Rangam, covering 2.5 sq. km. on an island in the Cauvery river.

MADURAI, a city sited more than 2000 years ago by the Pandya kings where the Meenakshi temple is a sightseeing must. There is a night halt here.

MYSORE, the last leg of the ten day tour is the city of palaces and sandalwood and places to visit include the City Palace, which is illuminated on Sunday nights. Excursions to the Chamundi Hills, the Sandalwood Oil factory and Vrindavan Gardens may be enjoyable.

DAY 01 ARRIVE MUMBAI
- received at the International airport and transferred to hotel
- overnight at hotel.

DAY 02 FLY MUMBAI - CHENNAI
- morning transfer to Airport for flight to Chennai.
- On arrival transferred to hotel .
- later half day sightseeing of Temple of Kapaleshwar etc
- overnight at hotel

DAY 03 CHENNAI / MAMALLAPURAM 100 km. ( 02 hours )
- early morning , drive to Mahabalipuram -the former capital of the Pallava kings .
- Sights of interest include " Arjun's Penance"- a huge bas relief in the fluid style of the Pallava's; the shore temples and 7th century Rathas - models of Dravidian temple architecture; and the crocodile farm 15 km. towards Chennai.
- overnight at hotel.

DAY 04 MAMALLAPURAM / PONDICHERRY 100 km. ( 02 hours ) via TIRUVANNAMALAI
- morning, drive to Pondicherry - enroute visit Tiruvannamalai - a temple Town with over 100 temples, which includes the largest Siva Parvati temple - 13 stories high, with a 1000 pillared hall. A must visit is the fort at Gingee.
- At Pondicherry - known for the Mother, visit the Aurobindo Ashram & Auroville
- overnight at hotel

DAY 05 PONDICHERRY / CHIDAMBARAM / THANJAVOOR
- morning, drive to Thanjavoor via sightseeing halt at Chidambaram - famed for its temple complex of Nataraja, the dancing Shiva.
- Thanjavur ( Or Tanjore ) is also famed for its silk , especially sarees. Places of interest include the Brihadeshwara Temple and the Palace with its Art Gallery
- overnight at hotel.

DAY 06 THANJAVOOR / TIRUCHIRAPALLI ( TRICHY ) / THANJAVOOR
- morning excursion to Tiruchirapalli ( 60 km. / 90 min )
- Tiruchirapalli - Though better known for the spectacular Rock Fort Temple which towers over the Old City, it is also the site for the largest and very interesting temple complex of SriRangam.
- overnight at hotel

DAY 07 THANJAVOOR / MADURAI
- morning, drive to Madurai
- the Minakshi temple is a sightseeing must
- overnight at hotel

DAY 08 MADURAI / BANGALORE
- day for sightseeing , visit the GramUdyog for Sandalwood works and readymades.
- evening, transfer to Railway Station for night train to Bangalore
- overnight on the train

DAY 09 BANGALORE / HASSAN 210 km. ( 4 to 5 hours )
- received on arrival at the Railway station , proceed on long drive to Hassan - the seat of the Hoysala Empire
- overnight at hotel.

DAY 10 HASSAN
- day for sightseeing at Hassan, Halebid and Belur
- Major temples are in Belur, Halebid-constructed 10 years after Belur. Also in this region is Sravanabelagola meaning ' Monk on Hilltop' - a very important site for Jain pilgrimage - dominated by the 55 foot statue of Bahubali
- Overnight at hotel

DAY 11 HASSAN / MYSORE
- morning, proceed on long drive to Mysore - the city of palaces and sandalwood
- afternoon, visit the City Palace which is illuminated on Sunday nights.
- Chamundi Hills, the Sandalwood Oil factory, the Silk factory and Vrindavan Gardens are other places of visit.
overnight at Hotel of choice

DAY 12 MYSORE / BANGALORE / MUMBAI & INTERNATIONAL DEPARTURE
- morning, proceed on long drive to Bangalore airport, 140 km. / 4 hours
- From Bangalore take evening flight to Mumbai.
- on arrival at Mumbai Airport , transfer to the International airport for flight to onward destination.
